A new week came and went, and it was as jam-packed for the girls as ever. From new milestones to attending different schedules, it truly was a normal week for TWICE and ONCEs.
Here's what happened this week:
January 15, 2018 - As it was announced last week, this day marked the start for pre-order of the different TWICE TV5 merchandises! The M/V for "Candy Pop" also surpassed 10,000,000 views on YouTube despite it being released ahead of time!
The girls also participated in the recording for the Idol Star Athletic Competition (ISAC). It was announced early that Mina would not be participating in the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition, but Nayeon was featured as a special MC. Nayeon, Dahyun, and Tzuyu also participated in the Archery competition where each member showcased their improvements from previous archery competitions.
January 16, 2018 - Halfway through the recording for ISAC the previous day, Sana suddenly disappeared. JYP Entertainment then confirmed to the public that Sana was diagnosed with gastroenteritis. Luckily, however, they added that Sana was resting well in the dorm with her members and was on track to recovering and would likely participate in all their upcoming schedules (in Japan).
The M/V for "Merry & Happy" also surpassed 10,000,000 views on YouTube!
January 17, 2018 - It was confirmed that TWICE will be attending the Gaon Chart Music Awards on February 14, 2018 alongside Super Junior's Leeteuk. The girls also have a chance in winning the Popularity Award, which is based 100% on voting!
It was also revealed that TWICE's concert tickets is the 16th best selling tickets in the concert category in Interpark. They are also the only girl group in the top 20!
January 18, 2018 - This day seemed to be more calm than the others, as the girls boarded and flew to Japan to kick start their Live Showcase Tour.
January 19, 2018 - The day before must have been the calm before the storm as this day marked the start of the Showcase Tour! The first stop was Seto City Cultural Center. Hours before the showcase began, J-ONCEs lined up neatly to go ahead and buy the new line of merchandises!
There was also said to be a short Meet&Greet for J-ONCEs that were members of the official fanclub. It was however very limited and was decided by lucky draw.
January 20, 2018 - TWICE was featured in an article written by Forbes on how they led JYP Entertainment to the No. 2 spot among the "Big 3". The article included information on how successful TWICE, among other JYP acts, have been in 2017.
TWICE also proved to be a monster in YouTube views once again with "Likey" hitting 160M views.
January 21, 2018 - Sana ranked 1st on Individual Girl Group Brand Ranking for the month of January! All the members ranked within the top 25 for the month! What a great start to the year ~
