Weekly Recap #2 (November 6 - November 12, 2017)

It's been one week since "Likey" was released, and TWICE is now deep in the promotion cycle for their first full album. As soon as "Likey" became eligible for music show wins, TWICE began racking up trophies left and right. 

Here's a recap of everything that's happened in the second week of "Likey" promotions! 

November 6, 2017 -- The girls started off the week with a bang by setting several records with their first full album. In just seven days since its release, twicetagram became the 6th best-selling girl group album of all time, as well as the album with the highest 1st week sales for a girl group.

In addition to album sales, TWICE also set another YouTube record, with "Likey" capturing the record for the fastest K-Pop girl group music video to reach 40 million views. And right as fans were celebrating this new accomplishment, JYP Entertainment released new "Likey" stickers for Naver's V LIVE App. 

In news, "Likey" producer Black Eyed Pilseung talked about working with TWICE on their latest hit, as well as past title tracks "Like OOH-AHH", "Cheer Up", and "TT".

TWICE was also mentioned in Western news outlets as well, with Vogue Runway writing an article on twicetagram and the group's '90s styling for their latest concept. 

Lastly, on November 6th, the girls were spotted at Gimpo International Airport on their way to Japan

November 7, 2017 -- JYP Entertainment released some beautiful behind-the-scenes photos from "Likey" through Naver Starcast, with two photos for each member and three group photos.

Tuesday also marked several new records and achievements for TWICE as well. "Like OOH-AHH" reached 1 million likes on YouTube. In addition to that, twicetagram surpassed 10,000 copies sold in Japan according to the Oricon charts, and the album reached #1 on Billboard's World Albums Chart.

November 8, 2017 -- The day started off with "Likey" reaching 1 million likes on YouTube, making it the fastest TWICE music video to do so yet. To add to the celebration, TWICE also recorded their first music show win for "Likey" on MBC's Show Champion and fans started counting trophies with #Likey1stWin

In television news, TWICE released the 1st episode of TWICE TV6 in Singapore, which featured the girls eating breakfast in their respective hotel rooms.

The episode of JTBC's Let's Eat Dinner Together featuring Dahyun and Jeongyeon logged an impressive score of 5.052% nationwide, earning it the #1 spot in viewer ratings for Wednesday night.

November 9, 2017 -- Thursday was Momo's birthday, and fans celebrated with the hashtag #HappyMOMOday.

Right on time, "Likey" reached 50 million views on YouTube and also earned the record for the fastest K-Pop girl group music video to do so. 

TWICE attended Mnet's M! Countdown, where Nayeon, Dahyun, and birthday girl Momo served as special MCs. Before the live show began, TWICE held a mini fanmeeting with fans to celebrate Jeongyeon and Momo's birthdays. After the mini fanmeeting, the girls returned to the show, where they ended up winning #1 with "Likey", marking #Likey2ndWin

In terms of sales and downloads, TWICE came in at #2 in Gaon's Monthly Album charts for October, despite releasing their album in the very last week of the month. They were the only girl group to make the top 10 on the list. Gaon also revealed that "Likey" ended its first week with 216,986 downloads

"Likey" M/V behind was also released through Vapp and youtube.

Momo ended her birthday with a livestream for fans through Naver's V Live App.

November 10, 2017 -- On Friday, TWICE held their Sinchon fansign and also attended KBS's Music Bank. They grabbed their 3rd win for "Likey" (#Likey3rdwin), which tied the group with SM Entertainment's TVXQ for the 9th-most music show wins

Friday was also a big day for TWICE's Japanese single "One More Time", which was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. The music video for "One More Time" also surpassed 30 million views on YouTube. 

Staying as busy as ever, TWICE also appeared as guests on SBS PowerFM Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time

To show their appreciation, Forbes released an article titled K-Pop Group TWICE: By The Numbers, giving readers a basic biography of the group using some statistics. Their tweet called TWICE "the K-Pop girl group slowly breaking into worldwide mainstream". 

Lastly, "Signal" hit 1 million likes on YouTube, making TWICE the only K-Pop girl group to have all of their music videos surpass 1 million likes.

November 11, 2017 -- It was reported that TWICE ranked #1 on the "Girl Group Brand Reputation" for the month of November with a score of 10,471,674.

They also released the 2nd episode of TWICE TV6 in Singapore, where the girls tried to complete individual secret missions while exploring the area. 

November 12, 2017 -- On Sunday, TWICE attended SBS's Inkigayo, where they won #1 with "Likey" (#Likey4thWin).

The music video for "Likey" also reached 60 million views on YouTube.

All in all, it was a pretty busy (but super successful) week for TWICE. With several new records and a couple brand new trophies to add to their already impressive resume, TWICE is now heading into their 3rd week of promotions as the front runner and a force to be reckoned with. Stay tuned!
